Bishop Challoner Sixth Form adopts a ‘young professional’ dress code. In other words, we have based these guidelines on how a professional person would dress for work. This means students will be smart, well-presented and business-like. 

What is acceptable? 

For all students: Your identity card must always be on display. 

For the Female Student: 

  • a blazer 

  • a knee length pleated skirt or 

  • formal knee length dress or 

  • trousers 

  • a blouse or smart top 

  • a pair of black or brown formal shoes 

For the Male Student: 

  • a business suit  

  • a shirt 

  • a tie 

  • a pair of black or brown formal shoes 

  

 

  • Ear piercings but no facial jewellery. 

  • Appropriate jewellery may be worn by Sixth Form students e.g. wristwatch, earrings/ear studs, single necklace and/or a single bracelet. 

  • Simple make-up can be worn. 

  • AirPods/Earphones/Headphones should not be worn around necks or in ears or around the school. Mobile phones can be used but only inside the Sixth Form building but not whilst in lessons, or in transit around school. 

  • Extreme hairstyles are not permitted. 

  • Tattoos are discouraged in the Sixth Form and should not be visible. 

 

What is not acceptable for any students

No Hoodies 

No Sweatshirts/tracksuits 

No cropped jackets 

No leggings or legging style flares 

No Bodysuits 

No body-con dresses 

No short stretchy material skirts 

No Crocs 

No Converse 

No Trainers 

No Ugg boots/mini boots 

  

Face Masks are not to worn anywhere onsite unless advised by the school 

  

The ultimate decision as to what is/is not acceptable will be made by the Sixth Form Team.  The reason for our high standards of dress is to ensure the professional conduct and appearance of our Sixth Form students is exemplary and respected both within and outside our community
